Previously known as the Maputo Elephant Reserve, this reserve is located on Maputo Bay, about 100km outside of Maputo City. The reserve is about 77,500 hectares and is home to 350 elephants, as well as a variety of other wildlife, such as crocodiles, hippos, zebra, impala, duiker, reedbok, steenbok, and many many birds including eagles.
Guests can drive through areas in their own cars or take one of many tours offered by a variety of different companies.
The reserve is easily accessible from both the South Africa border into Mozambique and Maputo and is close to Ponta do Ouro.
