Description
The trip departs Maputo around 08:30 to 09:00 for a 45-minute drive to Macaneta, passing the town of Marracuene and crossing the new Incomati River bridge. This journey moves from urban surroundings to the relaxed coastal atmosphere of Macaneta.
On arrival, guests will notice the fresh sea breeze and open spaces. The route to the resort showcases local life, small towns, coastal communities, and grazing cattle, creating a calm atmosphere. There is a stop at the Macaneta Glass House (Casa de Vidro), built from recycled glass bottles and cement. Visitors can explore the small museum and library, learning about global waste issues and environmental care. Monkeys and squirrels are sometimes visible around the Glass House and resort area.
At the resort, located between the Incomati River and the Indian Ocean, guests can relax on the beach near the restaurant, enjoy meals, and take in river views. The setting offers a peaceful environment for the afternoon. The return to Maputo is at approximately 17:30, concluding a day of beach, nature, and cultural discovery.
