Pemba's most interesting market, this is a large, sprawling affair that seems to sell everything, from dried fish and live chickens to clothes, spices and – best of all – traditional Makonde woodcarvings.

Designer clothing shops, jewelers, and a big supermarket make Maputo Shopping Center a popular stop for both tourists and locals. Onsite amenities include a movie theater on the ground floor and a range of cafes and restaurants scattered across the shopping complex.

Vilankulo's market is a maze of vendors selling everything from cloth to fish to shoes to fruit. 

Located in downtown Maputo, close to the municipal market, the Center for Brazilian Studies always has exhibitions or courses for the Brazilian community in Mozambique and for all visitors.
 

Maputo's Mercado de Peixe is a lively fish market located centrally in Mozambique's capital city.

Shopping Marés is located on the first and second floors of a multifunctional building in the Costa del Sol neighborhood, on Avenida Marginal. It is a charming building which, besides having houses, offers guests the convenience of having built several services in the same building.

Even if you don’t think you want to buy crafts, it’s worth stopping in at the excellent Artes Maconde at Avani Pemba Beach Hotel. It sells a wide range of quality carvings, crafts and textiles sourced from throughout Mozambique as well as elsewhere in the region.

Papagayo is a wonderful clothes, jewelry, and souvenir shop centrally located in the town of Vilankulo. 
 

Machilla Magic is a craft village located in Vilankulo. This fishing village has almost entirely put down their nets and now focus on making and marketing interesting artifacts made from different materials. They make wooden wares, décor pieces, jewelry, baskets, fabrics and barrel, and Pilau work out of recycled materials, coconut, and more.
