The name 'AZGO' was inspired by Mapauto slang, and means, 'let's go'. The festival takes place in Maputo in may, and focuses on using Mozambican culture to bring people together.
The first AZGO Festival took place in 2011. The festival is organized by Khuzula Productions and is also featured in the AMFN (African Music Festival Network), which means that Mozambican artists participating in international festivals as well as foreign musicians can participate. Mozambican music is the main event at AZGO, and you can be sure to enjoy a wide variety of local music at the festical. Festical goers will also enjoy craft fairs, art work, film, and Mozambican cuisine.
If you want to learn more about Mozabique's vibrant culture while also enjoying a fun filled festival weekend, then AZGO is the event for you! Come and enjoy a cultural meeting of music, food, and artwork in a beautiful setting.
